Focals by North are one of the first companies to offer stylish smart glasses. The company offers two different styles, Round and Classic.

The glasses offer a way to receive and send text messages (with emojis) and view turn-by-turn directions. You can also request an Uber and activate Alexa all from within the glasses.

Other functionality includes the ability to check the weather as well as access your calendar.

The glasses start at $599 and require an in-person visit to one of their retail locations for a proper fitting. Included in that price is a battery case that can charge your glasses when you're not using them. If you want to visit one of their stores, you'll have to visit either Brooklyn or Toronto.

Although the showrooms are scarce, the company plans on adding pop-up stores to other major cities in the future. You can request Focals by North to come to your city, but it will cost you $100. The good news is that the $100 deposit goes towards the purchase of your glasses and is fully refundable if you change your mind.

I really believe this company is one to something. The Google Glass was an epic failure and way too ahead of its time. With continued funding and marketing efforts, Focals by North could become a top choice for people looking to take advantage of smart glass features.

As of recently, Focals by North have started offering prescription options. Sign me up!
